SNAPSHOT - March '25

CHRISTMAS PROGRAMME - Dec’24
Our annual Christmas Program for the families of our children was held on 20th December.
The ice breakers for the parents was conducted by our college kids. The guest speakers from Trichy - Mrs. Shiney and her son Joel - engaged the crowd with songs and a small Christmas message. The children from Anita School children along with the girls of St. Thomas school presented a dance celebrating the birth of Christ. The St. Thomas school students sang a song ‘Super-duper Christmas’.
We had 3 of our graduates attend the program - Jayalakshmi, Anita and Sharmila. They distributed the gifts to the children and spoke to them on the importance of studying hard and thanked Eternus for playing a crucial role in their lives.
Sharmila’s husband, who owns a catering business, sponsored 50 dinner packets for the Christmas programme, which was a lovely gesture.

Christmas Gifting initiative by our College students
To make Christmas this year more meaningful, the College students decided to distribute food packets to those living on the pavements at Marina Beach. They collectively raised funds, and Ishwarya, a III yr student, prepared the meals. On December 26th, a total of 70 food packets were distributed.
The students were thrilled by this initiative, and the joy they experienced while serving others was truly heartwarming. We also reflected on the idea that this act wasn’t good about ourselves but this is the real meaning of Christmas.
BOARD MEETING – Dec’24
The annual Board meeting happened on the 5th of December, at Eternus office over zoom. We had our Board members Jose Philip, Ashok Thomas and Christo Mathews here in Chennai; Michael Stephen and Isaac Thomas joined us online from Dubai. The overview of school and college programmes, children’s academic performance, family relationships of all children, along with various activities of the previous year was presented. We also had suggestions on how to align on with certain areas with respect to the Eternus graduates and children currently in college.
TEEN’S CAMP – Dec’24
The annual Teen’s camp was held between 27th and 29th of December at Mahabalipuram. 16 students (7 from school, 9 from college) took part in the camp. The theme for this camp was “Mindura” – combination of the words ‘mind+aura’; the importance of being mindful in all our aspects of our life. Mr. Lesley and his sister Ms. Christa were our resource people. The camp had quiet time, devotions, experiential learning, group discussions, testimony, one on one sessions, campfire, beach and even a time of swimming.
The sessions were amazing; the speakers did a great job in connecting with the children. They reflected on how important it is that our life is rooted on the right values which will enrich our thoughts and bring a positive impact on those around us through our actions.

Counseling Session – Feb’25
On 9th Feb, we held our pre-Board exams session for students of classes 10, 11 and 12.

He also talked about different courses they can pursue in the 11th standard and explored college course strategies and options for the 12th graders. He spent time individually with the students and helped clarify their doubts.

- “Positive Discipline” by Dr. John N.L., where disciplining should focus on the root of the behavior, emphasizing on explaining the consequences of action.
- Setting limits
- Talk less, Do more (setting limits and acting in response when limits are crossed
- ‘Helping the Children to own their mistakes’.

COLLEGE PROGRAMME

Speaking exercises, including group discussions, provided an opportunity to exchanging ideas, critical thinking, and refine verbal communication.
College students come together during their Eternus class hours to read and discuss The Purpose Driven Life.
We have Pooja (LLB)working on building her own blog, which also serves as an opportunity to enhance writing and comprehension skills.
Second Years:
We are focusing on refining their resumes and creating LinkedIn profiles. As part of this process, we have worked on cover letters, writing techniques, and redefining career objectives based on job descriptions.
Third Years:
We worked on cover letters for resumes, learning the correct techniques and methods. We also helped students create LinkedIn accounts. Additionally, we did some reading exercises.
ETERNUS ALUMNI CONNECT:
The core team met to plan a graduate session . As mentioned earlier, we intend for graduates themselves to serve as resource persons for this session, which will also include college students.
